Eggcetera's ceramic quail/bantam eggs have been used by many in the poultry industry to enhance egg production. They may be used to encourage young hens to sit and lay eggs in nest boxes so they can be easily gathered. Our eggs have also been used to discourage young hens from pecking and breaking freshly laid eggs thereby improving production. Our ceramic quail eggs are of similar size and weight to “real” quail and bantam eggs. They are durable making them difficult to break so they will last a long time. Our ceramic quail eggs are also used as props for bird nests in home décor. The eggs can be easily painted to duplicate eggs of many songbirds.

Got these in white to switch out my mated fancy pigeon pair’s eggs. I switched out the real one with a fake and they didn’t notice. This way I remove real ones from being incubated and they don’t develop. Since they lay up to 12 eggs a year we’re practicing responsible birdy birth control!That said these eggs are perfect! Size, color, and shape are spot on. In the image provided the fake one is on the left and the real one is on the right. I like these better than wood or plastic. I also like that they have no holes to get mold trapped inside. Planning to use these for years to come.
