Break out the footrest, kick back and get on the receiving end of the Ray Mason Band and ' Three Dollar Man'. Review A master of roots-tinged pop that brings to mind such luminaries as NRBQ and The Band. -- Russell Hall, Performing SongwriterAn old-fashioned guy whose enthusiasm for yesterday's AM radio makes him seem as contemporary as tomorrow's MP3. -- Jim Macnie, VH1.comIn performance he comes across like a fusion of Neil Young and Screamin' Jay Hawkins, or a one-man NRBQ. -- Seth Rogovoy, The Rogovoy Report About the Artist Ray and his roadworn 1965 Silvertone guitar have been tirelessly touring since 1982. Averaging over 140 shows a year, he's like a teenager with 30+ years of experience. Between 1983-1990 Ray released six critically acclaimed (cassette only) albums. 1994 saw the initial release of his first "official" CD (Between Blue and Okay), followed by Missyouville, Old Souls Day, Castanets, When the Clown's Work is Over, Square Crazy, and now Three Dollar Man. He also has recorded three albums as a member of the Lonesome Brothers. See more

Ray's a local legend and the nicest guy in the biz to boot. The torch bearer for the 3 minute pop gem. If you love NRBQ, dbs, early Costello, and Crenshaw you're gonna flip over this. I'm picky about my pop but this one proudly sits on my shelf next to the aforementioned popsmiths.
